Trading Hours on Margarita Island
In regards to the trading hours on Margarita Island, the shops & stores operate differently when compared to their counterparts in countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom, for example. Many countries in the world have what I would call regular trading hours, where stores operate between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm.
The trading hours on Margarita Island, like in many regions of Latin America, have completely different trading hours. As in other parts of the world, such as Spain and Italy, the majority of shops & stores have split-shift trading hours, so to speak. This means they open in the morning, shut down at lunch time for a few hours, then re-open in the afternoon. A typical split shift configuration may be 9:00am – 1:00pm, then 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Unfortunately in regards to trading hours on Margarita Island, there is NO set standard. As a shopper, this can be frustrating at times!
If you´re a slow starter in the morning and arrive at the shopping mall around lunchtime, there´s a really good chance many of the stores may be closed. I always find it best to vist the shops & stores mid morning, around 10:30am or so, just to be on the safe side.
For the shops & stores which I visit on a regular basis, I usually ask the employees in regards to their trading hours. That way you won´t be disappointed the next time you need something from that particular store.
